ForgenFit (“ForgenFit”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is developed by CODCrafters. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our Android mobile application (package org.codcrafters.forgenfit) and our website at https://forgenfit.codcrafters.org.

By using ForgenFit, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or website.

1. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide and improve the service.

1.1 Account information

Email address when you create an account or sign in with email and password.
Display name when you register or sign in with Google.
Authentication identifiers (such as a Firebase user ID) managed by Google Firebase Authentication.
Guest mode: You may use limited features without creating an account. No email is collected in guest mode.

1.2 Profile and fitness information

Information you enter in the app to personalize workouts and nutrition. This is stored primarily on your device:

Name, age, gender, height, weight, waist and hip measurements (if provided)
Fitness goal (e.g., build muscle, lose weight, maintain)
Activity level and training preferences
Optional profile photo (if you choose to add one)
Calculated metrics such as BMI, BMR, TDEE, IBW, and hydration targets

1.3 Workout and nutrition data

Workout logs (exercises, sets, reps, weights, dates)
Meal and nutrition entries you log
Water intake and rest-day preferences
App settings such as rest timer and weekly split configuration

This data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (Hive and SharedPreferences) unless you explicitly use a cloud-connected feature.

1.4 AI Coach data (optional)

If you enable the AI Coach and provide your own Google Gemini API key in app settings, your chat prompts and related context are sent directly to Google's Generative Language API under your API key and Google's terms. We do not store your API key on our servers; it is saved locally on your device.

1.5 Device and technical data

Device type, operating system version, and app version (2.5.9)
Timezone and notification permission status (for workout reminders)
Basic crash or error logs that may be generated by third-party SDKs (e.g., Firebase)

1.6 Information we do not collect

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not collect precise GPS location for tracking your movements.
We do not access your contacts, SMS, or call logs.
We do not collect payment card details (the app is free).

2. How we use your information

Create and manage your account and keep you signed in
Personalize workout splits, nutrition targets, and body-metric calculations
Save and display your workout history and progress
Send local push notifications for gym reminders (only if you enable them)
Provide optional AI coaching when you supply an API key
Improve app stability, security, and user experience
Respond to support requests you send us

3. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)

Where applicable under GDPR, we process personal data based on:

Contract: To provide the app and features you request
Consent: For optional features such as notifications and AI Coach

4. Third-party services

ForgenFit uses trusted third parties. Each has its own privacy policy:

5. Data storage, retention, and security

Most fitness and profile data is stored locally on your device. Firebase stores authentication data needed to operate your account. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

We retain account data while your account is active. Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. You may request account deletion as described on our Account & Data Deletion page.

6. Android permissions

ForgenFit may request the following permissions solely to support app features:

Internet — sign-in, optional AI Coach, and content updates
Notifications — workout and rest reminders you opt into
Camera / Photos — optional profile photo only, when you choose
Vibration — rest timer alerts
Exact alarms / timezone — reliable reminder scheduling

You can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.

7. Health and fitness disclaimer

ForgenFit provides general fitness and nutrition information for educational purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting a new exercise or diet program, especially if you have a medical condition.

8. Children's privacy

ForgenFit is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. International data transfers

CODCrafters is based in Pakistan. Third-party providers such as Google may process data in countries outside your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards apply under applicable law.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access, correct, or update your personal information
Delete your account and associated authentication data
Withdraw consent for optional features (e.g., notifications)
Export or delete local workout logs within the app
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
